Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with young children, possess a deep understanding of child development, and demonstrate expertise in various assessment tools, including DRDPs, ASQs, and ERECEs. As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of our preschoolers and ensuring they receive the highest quality care and instruction.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of preschoolers.
Assessment: Utilize assessment tools such as DRDPs (Desired Results Developmental Profile), ASQs (Ages and Stages Questionnaires), and ERECEs (Early Reading and Early Childhood Environment Rating Scales) to track children’s progress and inform instructional planning.
Classroom Management: Create and maintain a well-organized and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation, exploration, and creativity among children.
Lesson Planning: Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate a variety of teaching methods and materials to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
Individualized Instruction: Differentiate instruction to meet the unique needs of each child, providing additional support or enrichment as necessary.
Parent Communication: Foster open and effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on children’s progress, milestones, and any areas of concern.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a cohesive and positive learning experience for all children.
Child Safety: Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment, adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols and emergency procedures.
Professional Development: Stay current with the latest trends and research in early childhood education through ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred or Child Development Permit
State teaching certification for preschool or early childhood education.
Previous experience as a Lead Preschool Teacher, preferably in a licensed childcare or early education center.
Proficiency in assessment tools such as DRDPs, ASQs, and ERECEs.
Strong classroom management and behavior management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for working with young children and a commitment to their growth and development.
