Job Description
We seek a motivated and enthusiastic Child Development Intern to assist our experienced teachers in our preschool classrooms. The intern will work closely with the lead teacher to provide young children a safe, nurturing, and educational environment. The intern will also have opportunities to observe and participate in various aspects of child development, including lesson planning, behavior management, and parent communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest time
- Observe and document children’s progress and behavior
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment
- Communicate with parents about children’s progress and behavior
- Attend staff meetings and professional development training
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in or have completed a child development, early childhood education, or related program
- Previous experience working with young children is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of child development theories and practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must pass a background check and fingerprinting
