Child Development Intern

Job Description

We seek a motivated and enthusiastic Child Development Intern to assist our experienced teachers in our preschool classrooms. The intern will work closely with the lead teacher to provide young children a safe, nurturing, and educational environment. The intern will also have opportunities to observe and participate in various aspects of child development, including lesson planning, behavior management, and parent communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities
• Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest time
• Observe and document children’s progress and behavior
• Assist with maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment
• Communicate with parents about children’s progress and behavior
• Attend staff meetings and professional development training

Qualifications:

• Must be currently enrolled in or have completed a child development, early childhood education, or related program
• Previous experience working with young children is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of child development theories and practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must pass a background check and fingerprinting
